Clear landmarks in the area

Here you will find out why it is worth looking for clear landmarks and details in the location.

Clear landmarks (CL) in a linear landmark (LL)

AO - a location in the area that's easy to find on the map. AO can be a linear landmark, such as a junction where a road crosses a stream, or where streams intersect. Unlike LO, AO is not something you follow, it's just something you pass by.

AO, who are further from LO

AO can also be features located near LO, such as a building, a rock, or a mountain. You should always see these landmarks when following LO. Note that the rock on the hill and the building are on the left of LO, while the marsh is on the right of LO. Such AOs can help determine how far you have traveled following LO, or understand that you should leave LO to find KP or a new LO. It is worth choosing a path through several AOs, even if it means slightly deviating from the shortest route. Each time you pass an AO, you will know exactly where you are. If there are few good LOs, a few AOs can be as useful as LOs.

TIP

When starting to run towards the Control Point, you should always make a plan of which Attack Points to look for on the way.

Find your way with the clearest AO

Which route should you choose to pass through good AO between checkpoints?

Proceed along the stream until you reach the path. The first AO is an intersection. The next AO is the stream crossing the path. The third AO is a crossroads of paths. Follow the path until you reach another intersection. The final AO will be when you see the stream turning left leading to KP.
